CLARINET

Paul Eger

I am the newest member of the group and am really excited to have my first opportunity to play such great music.

I began playing clarinet in elementary school and played seriously through high school. Unfortunately, the clarinet went into the closet when I began graduate school and started working. It remained there for about 20 years until my daughter began playing clarinet and opened the door for father-daughter duets!

I currently play with the Red Rock Swing Band and the South Washington County Community Band. My clarinet idols include Benny Goodman and Pete Fountain. I was lucky enough to see Pete play at his club in New Orleans when I was in college; it is still one of my most memorable performances. Thanks to the Stompers for giving me the chance to be part of such a fun group.
